Our Sweet "Little Man"

Jaden's adorable smile that melts his sisters hearts and accomplishes his mission of being the most spoiled little brother on earth!

Feeding the Horses at the Brown's Ranch

"Mr. Taekwondo" Jaden

Mr. Londonberg, master instructor of Family Martial Arts of Texas purchased this TKD uniform for Jaden. He's the unofficial mascot of the Dojo. Most of the other little boys ask me how Jaden got his black belt so fast. I told them he was born with it. :) I can attest that he kicked me harder than any other child I've had in utero! Jaden loves to "spar" the older kids and thinks it's funny to sidekick their helmets.

Spending Time in Pagosa Springs Colorado

Handsome Dr. Thomas Annett is now entering his 3rd year of his Family Practice Residency--the last year of our 13-year medical journey together. Thomas is known to be a competant, compassionate, skilled doctor. We are just proud to be his family. Yeah Dr. Annett!!

Our homeschool drama group took 1st place at the Scarborough Faire Rennassaince Festival in Waxahachie, Texas. Our kids were the youngest (ages 7-10 years) to ever perform on the Crown Stage. They competed against various high school drama clubs and were judged by 4 professional actors/actresses. Jordin played Macbeth and Jaxin played the part of servant/villager/prop girl. The play, "Macbeth in 10 Minutes" was written by our own Tracy Villenueava. We learned so much and were thrilled with the experience. (This picture was taken at the award presentation after the kids removed their costumes. Jaxin is in the blue hat, and Jordin is in the black tiger shirt).

Kenedi's New Smile

Kenedi pulled her first loose tooth out by herself! She was so excited to get a dollar from the tooth fairy, but even more excited to enter the world of the "big girl". She is very proud of her new smile.

The girls "got" Strings!

The girls have each started learning to play a string instrument. Jordin plays Cello while Kenedi and Jaxin are learning to play the Violin.
Sheri McMurtrey is a fun and inspiring teacher.

Our Gingerbread House

We made a gingerbread house this year. Thomas fixed it with real lights and all. The girls loved making it and pretending it was real! And then there's me....well, I enjoyed eating it.

Christmas 2005

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me....Three Texas Belles and a Little Beau near the lighted tree.

Medieval Festival

Our homeschool history group joined with the McClennan County Home Learners group to put on a medieval festival for the community. We learned how to dress in period costume, prepare medieval food, dance for the King and Queen, serve the multi-course meal of authentic medieval foods, and even put on a full-length play of St. George written by Tracy Villenueva(Jaxin was the Prince George, Jordin the Turkish Knight, and Kenedi a reindeer). The girls had a great time and so did the many guests of the party. They were even knighted by a real knight from Scarboraough Faire and took a picture with the "Pope".

Our Butterfly

The girls learned about Monarch Butterflies and raised this pretty lady from a caterpillar. We fed her milkweed, until she settled in a "J" position and made her cocoon. A couple weeks later she emerged. We enjoyed watching her fly around our home and eat from our flowers until she one day disappeared. We were lucky to see her, as she was a late bloomer, having not hatched until early November. We loved having a Butterfly in the HOUSE!!

Princesses of the Nile

After a hard day of learning, the girls and friends cool off in the "Nile" river.

Indian Friends

When learning about India I met a man from India at Baylor. I invited him and his wife to our History day to teach us more about their country. Nandan and Manda Shastri told us stories, demonstrated how to wear a Sari, spoke of Indian religions, and displayed Manda's embroidery. We then ate Indian cuisine and danced to Indian music.

The mummification of TutanChicken!!

While learning about Egyptian mummies, we mummified a whole chicken using our own Natron mixture of baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices. We wrapped him in linen and homemade amulets. We named him Tutanchicken and after "purifying" in my garage for many weeks, we buried him in a cookie tin. We also held a wailing ceremony for him as we carried him to his burial place....under the statue of St. Francis.

Just another day of homeschool history

Introducing the girls in their home designed medieval squire outfits. On this particular day they made illuminated manuscripts with quills and ink, learned to kick up their heels to medieval music, juggle like court jesters, and make bread with mashed lentils, coarse barley, and raw seeds....YUM!!!

Hello!

The 4 kiddos walking for a cure for Diabetes. We designed these t-shirts and all of our friends who walked with us bought one. We were a wave of green for Jaxin!
