While learning about Egyptian mummies, we mummified a whole chicken using our own Natron mixture of baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices. We wrapped him in linen and homemade amulets. We named him Tutanchicken and after "purifying" in my garage for many weeks, we buried him in a cookie tin. We also held a wailing ceremony for him as we carried him to his burial place....under the statue of St. Francis.
