School Time Again!

Jordin is memorizing the countries of Africa...

Jaxin and Kenedi work on their essay questions from the classic book "Caddie"...

and Jaden is learning to cut and paste shapes (he is the best 3 year old scissor hands in the nation!).

Teach me to Pray to my Father above...

Jordin tried to teach Emma that when feeling grumpy,
just get down on your knees and pray...
and like Brigham Young says,
"If you don't feel like praying, pray until you do feel like praying."
;-P

Emma's smile

First a small grin tickles the corner of her mouth...

Next it spreads to her eyes...

Then her cheeks and chin join in...

And finally the full faced grin that shouts "I'm Emma"!

Emma's Blessing Dress

Emma was blessed on August 3, 2008.
Her daddy blessed her in Sacrament Mtg of the
Greeneville Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Our good friend of 15 years Chris Rowe also stood in to bless her along with other
members of the priesthood in our branch.
Emma cried during the entire blessing, but it was special none the less.

The 'Ole Tractor

We welcomed home an old tractor that we have been searching for. A neighbor up the road had it in his barn and told us he'd sell it to us. It runs well, looks great, and guzzles ethanol (from our sorghum crop)--perfect for our farm.

Jaden LOVES the tractor and pretends to drive it as often as he can!

Truly Sequel

I've dreamed of breeding Arabians since I was very young. Thomas gave me my first filly after he graduated from Medical Residency. She is a Straight Egyptian Arabian with very rare and valuable bloodlines. I am so excited to be living my dream. She will be the foundation mare of our new farm, "Reverence Spring Arabians".

An Ethiopian Meal

After studying about Ethiopian History, we made and ate an ethiopian meal with Mema and Papa.
The chicken mixture called Doro Wat is placed on top of Injura bread and then dipped in a cottage cheese mixture called Iob.
It is eaten as pictured with everyone digging in.
It was very delicious!
